This year has been.... interesting.
By interesting, I mean a real crap shoot. So many deaths, the election, the backstabbing, the dishonesty, and the disappointment. But, through it all, there was a silver lining to this terrible year. So, with a mere 2 days left in this year, let me comprise a short list of great things that happened in 2016
5. I found Chance the Rapper and fell in love with Coloring Book
And other great artist had really amazing projects this year. D.R.A.M., Childish Gambino, of course Yeezy, and many others. This was an overall great year for music in general.
4. Michelle Obama’s speech at the Democratic National Convention
The motto she featured in her remarks, "When they go low, we go high," is definitely one to live by. Thank you Michelle O. You and the POTUS will be deeply missed.
3. Ashley Graham killed these covers
Sports Illustrator, British Vogue..... SLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY!!! She's opening doors and shutting down opposing opinions that want nothing more than to bash her curves.
2. Vicky's Secret has been reinacted
Regular women took to the catwalk to show off their curves and their underware. What?! I love this! I hope they do it again next year!
1. Would you like a Seat at the Table and a tall glass of Lemonade?
I swear a mixture of this Knowles cocktail is getting me through my separation. It's a combo of Cranes in the Sky and Boy Bye! I swore I was cursing everyone out. Thank you Beyonce and Solonge for getting me, Tenisha Jonece, through the year.
So cheers to a New (and hopefully better) Year!
