First and foremost, I hope that your Labor day was fantastic. I love and hate Labor Day at the same time. I hate it because it was the end of summer and the beginning of another school year. I loved Labor Day, because my friends and I would catch eleven thousand trains to go from Plainfield, NJ to Brooklyn, New York for the West Indian Day Parade. Labor Day also meant that my birthday is a little more than a month away.
Anyone born in Autumn would know that fall birthdays are the best when you're in elementary school. Your party is filled with friends from last school year, the new summer friends you've acquired, and of course the new classmates you've just met. Not to mention, the classroom parties are amazing. Your teacher would shut down the classroom at the end of the day and parents would bring in pizza or cupcakes. Of course, this was before the rampant food allergy epidemic that current parents are facing today. Peanut oil and soy free were options were not available. "Do you want chocolate or vanilla?" Don't let your birthday fall on a Friday either.... NO HOMEWORK!!!
When I went to college, it felt like nothing changed.. My birthday tends to fall around homecoming week, which is exactly what happened my freshman year. I celebrated the entire week as if all of the festivities were for me. I even rolled around with a crown... narcissistic much? Yeah, just a smidgen.. but I have a great time every year.
I would want that type of excitement for your birthday too. Just a joyful moment and realizing how blessed you are to see another year... oh and gifts. I wish you a cute and thoughtful gift. One that makes you smile and you'd actually use. So, making preparations for my own birthday, I wanted to provide you a guide for the birthday girl in your life. One of these is a perfect knick knack to present to a mother, sister, cousin, aunt, lover, wife, or friend.
These adorable sunglasses are tre chic, simple, yet thoughtful. What ups the thoughtful factor is the gold or silver monogram on the arms. Imagine having something so unique in your sunnies collection. Jealous friends and family members have to keep their mitts off this pair, because your name is literally on them.
The J'Adore mug is simply divine. Even if she doesn't drink coffee or tea... hot cocoa season will be upon us sooner or later. Might as well let her know she's loved while she sips on a hot beverage.
The 2017 Band.o Lady of Leisure Agenda. BANDO is my bew! They provide organizational porn for the woman who loves to file and order her life into neat squares and boxes. PLUS... there are stickers in there... EEEEK!
An engraved bar necklace is a mix of "Round the way girl", and Sex in the City's Carrie Bradshaw. I've wanted to get one of these since I was a wee little lass. I was recently reminded of my obsession with name plates. *Thanks*. I think this is a step up from the one I wanted before. It's a classic shape and will look good with most attire.
I think a print from Thimblepress is a perfect idea. Something to look at and admire on a desk or wall, will be a visual reminder of your kindness. I specifically chose the "Let's Meet in Paris" print because.... well... I love Paris. Find one that fits the recipient of your gift.
I love that all of these gifts are available at Moon & Lola, which is exactly where I will be celebrating my birthday this year. I will be at Crabtree Valley Mall on October 21st for a Blog Relaunch and Meetup hosted by Moon & Lola.
You can sign RSVP here or on the event's page. I'm so excited to announce that I will be working with this brand! There will be Champagne, cake pops, and other light bites. Moon & Lola will be providing a giveaway for the event, and we will be live hosting the event on Facebook.
I hope I see you there!
