I don't know if it's my love for Bun-heads or my childhood fantasies of blush colored ballet shoes, but I'm searching for "plié" inspired workouts.
I normally love the ones from the New York City Ballet (there are over 50 workouts to choose from!).
Most of the moves are done in a controlled manner, leaving you with stronger muscles. A major bonus to doing these workouts includes acquiring a bit more flexibility. (Whoot! No achy joints!)
There's nothing like throwing on a pair of leggings, and your best bun and going for your best version of a grand plié!
But, if you're like me, you'd prefer a little one on one instruction, which is why I'm signing up for a class! There are several studios in Raleigh, but there just so happens to be one willing to teach and taking money from adult beginners. I hope all goes well, wish me luck!
"What if there are no classes in my area?"
I'm sure there's a barre fit class out there somewhere, but if not, take a gander at some of these YouTube videos and try them at home.
